Mnogi aspekti ovog projekta imaju logiku sličnu konceptu ruske lutke – babuške, ne samo u doslovnom, fizičkom smislu, kada se jedna stvar direktno postavlja unutar druge, već i u temporalnom smislu, kada jedna stvar zapravo potiče iz unutrašnjosti druge. Inicijalni uslovi projekta omogućili su povoljnu pozadinu za ovaj koncept:
VANREDAN PROJEKAT. RED BULL MUZIČKA AKADEMIJA 2011:
Red Bull Muzička akademija (RBMA) je nomadski godišnji muzički festival. U poslednjih 20 godina ovaj događaj se održava u različitim svetskim gradovima, i ugosćava šezdeset prethodno izabranih učesnika iz celoga sveta koji provode vreme u društvu muzičara, producenata i DJ-eva, i na taj način dobijaju mogućnost da eksperimentišu i razmenjuju znanje i ideje iz sveta muzike. Za mesto događaja 2011. godine bio je planiran grad Tokio, ali s obzirom na razorne posledice zemljotresa promenjena je lokacija. Samo 5 meseci pred događaj grad Madrid je preuzeo ulogu domaćina. Inspirativan prostor poznat pod imenom Matadero Madrid, koji se nalazi u okviru industrijskog kompleksa skladišta iz ranog 20. veka, proglašen je novom lokacijom događaja.
In many ways this project shares the logic of a Russian matryoshka doll. Not only in the most literal, physical sense, in which one thing is directly incorporated into another, but also in a temporal sense, in which one actually originates within the other. The initial circumstances of this project established a favorable backdrop for this condition:
AN EMERGENCY PROJECT. THE RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY MADRID 2011:
The Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) is a nomadic annual music festival. For the last 14 years, this event has been held in a different world city, welcoming the sixty pre-selected international participants and surrounding them with musicians, producers, and DJs, thereby giving them the opportunity to experiment with and exchange knowledge and ideas about the world of music. The 2011 edition of RBMA was going to be held in Tokyo, but given the devastating effects of the earthquake, the location had to be changed. With only five months to plan, the city of Madrid took over. The creative space known as Matadero Madrid, which is located in an early 20th century industrial warehouse complex, was designated as the event’s new location.
