BIG PREDSTAVLJA PROJEKAT SKIJALIŠTA U LAPLANDU
Budući ski kompleks pretvoriće postojeće skijaško odmaralište u mestu Levi u svetsko turističko odredište. Kompleks nudi usluge vrhunskog smeštaja i rekreacije za skijaše svih kategorija i različitih potreba. Blizina aerodroma Kittila olakšava dolazak do skijaškog centra i privlači strane posetioce u Lapland region i selo Levi. Preduzimač Kassiopeia Finland Oy, situiran u Finskoj, ulaže u lokalnu oblast i trenutno poseduje i upravlja hotelom Levi Panorama, Levi kongresnim centrom i hotelom K5 Levi i veoma je zainteresovan za dalji razvoj Koutalaki zone.

Lociran na blago zakošenom terenu postojeći ski centar u Leviju predstavlja okvir za budući Koutalaki ski kompleks koji je zamišljen kao proširenje kongresne zone i postojeće zone kuća u Koutalakiju. BIG predlaže seriju objektata koji su radijalno postavljeni oko centralnog trga i čiji se krovovi spuštaju sve do tla stvarajući tako četiri slobodnostojeće zgrade. Kod svake od njih omogućen je pristup krovu tako da se skijaši mogu spuštati sa krova kompleksa u raznim pravcima. Blage krivine talasastih krovova četiri zgrade vizuelno se uklapaju u prirodni pejzaž i takođe daju specifičan izgled naseljenog planinskog vrha.

Izveden prema prirodnoj topografiji terena, a ne kao da je pao sa neba, kompleks ima arhitektonsku formu koja se nastavlja na organske forme prirodnog okruženja i tako formira nastanjivu veštačku planinu za skijanje. Kao rezultat toga projekat Koutalaki ski kompleksa ostvaruje novi hibrid tako što integriše posebne identitete kao što su selo i odmaralište, sklonište i otvoreni ambijent, udobnu intimnost i prirodnu veličanstvenost, jedinstven karakter i opipljiv kontinuitet , ili jednostavno arhitekturu i prirodno okruženje.”

Četiri zgrade postavljene su lučno kako bi formirale trg kompleksa, srce odmarališta, koji je zaštićen od vetra ali i otvoren i privlačan. Trg sadrži klizalište i prostor za muzičke događaje i povezan je sa dvorištem – zonom kafea i restorana u okviru donjih nivoa novih zgrada. Intimna atmosfera ovog prostora u suprotnosti je sa otvorenim pejzažom koji se sagledava iz kongresnog centra.
Zone odmarališta su povezane mrežom puteva koji su prevashodno osmišljeni za skijaše i pešake. Za pristupe krovovima koriste centralna jezgra liftova koja omogućavaju spuštanje ka dvorištu ili ka pisti. Centralni hotelski lift vodi ka restoranu na vrhu objekta koji ima panoramski pogled na okolini pejzaž od 360°.
“Pri prvoj poseti lokacije budućeg Koutalki kompleksa uvideli smo koliko su blizu skijaške staze ali u isto vreme i koliko je važno formirati i veze-komunikacije za skijaše. Blaga kosina dalje od glavnog skijališta bila je najbolji izbor i pokazala se kao lokacija koja odgovara sveobuhvatnom predlogu koji pruža odličan sistem komunikacija za skijaše i pešake.”

Sve jedinice za smeštaj koje se nude u odmaralištu imaju pogled na prirodne lepote okruženja. Odmaralište nudi i smeštaj u osam privatnih vila, koje su locirane na različitim visinama kako bi se osigurao nesmetan panoramski pogled. Vile imaju nivelisana privatna dvorišta koja deluju kao nastavak prirodnog pejzaža. Vile su potpuno integrisane u snežni pejzaž i snežni pokrivač se percepira kao deo arhitekture.
“Umesto projektovanja rešenja koja se štite od snega, kopanjem ili sklanjanjem, odlučili smo se za rešenje koje koristi sav potencijal snega. Kada se sneg zadrži na fasadi ramovi prozora postaju deo pejzaža i objekat se adaptira na vremenske prilike. Svetla granitna fasada dodatno utiče na intiman odnos sa prirodom.”

Dok u toku zimskog perioda četiri objekta simuliraju skijalište zadovoljavajući osnovne potrebe skijaša – skijanje, relaksaciju, rekreaciju i smeštaj, tokom leta krovovi objekata postaju jednako atraktivne zelene staze za planinarenje, šetnju i izlete koje se nastavljaju na prirodni okolni pejzaž.

BIG UNVEILS A SKI RESORT IN LAPLAND
The future Ski Village will transform the existing Levi ski resort into a world class destination, offering top quality accommodation and leisure services for skiers of all levels and demands. The proximity to the Kittila airport ensures easy access to the resort attracting international visitors to Levi village and the whole Lapland region. The Finland-based developer Kassiopeia Finland Oy is investing in its local region as it currently owns and operates Hotel Levi Panorama, Levi Summit Congress Center and Hotel K5 Levi and above and beyond has interests in developing the exquisite Koutalaki area.

Located on a gentle slope, the existing Levi ski center provides the framework for the future Koutalaki Ski Village which is conceived as an extension of the summit and the existing cluster of buildings in Koutalaki. BIG proposes to create a series of buildings that radiate out from a central square and whose ends touch the ground to create four freestanding buildings that each provide access to the roof and allow the skiers to descend from the resort’s rooftop downhill in any direction. The soft curves of the undulating roofs of the four buildings create a visual continuity of the natural landscape while lending the whole village the unique character of a skislope skyline that creates an inhabited mountain top.

The four buildings arc around a central square to create a new bustling village plaza at the heart of the resort, which is sheltered from the wind yet open and inviting to the surrounding landscape. The plaza allows ice skating and music events and is connected to a bowl like yard with cafes and bars created by the lower interior heights of the new buildings. The intimate atmosphere of the spaces created here contrasts the open views from the summit.
The whole resort area is connected through a network of paths that prioritizes skiers and pedestrians. Access to the roofs happens through central elevator cores allowing skiing down either towards the courtyard or the piste. An elevator located centrally in the hotel provides access to the roof top restaurant with a 360 degree panorama views of the landscape.

All accommodation units offered at the new resort enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding nature, including the eight private villas which are situated at different elevations to provide an undisturbed panorama, while the elevated private gardens serve as an extension of the landscape. The villas embrace the snowy landscape and allow the snow in all its forms become a part of the architecture itself.

When it is caught on the facade the window frames become a living part of the landscape, adapting to changes in the weather. The light granite facade enhances the intimate relation with the nature. “

While the four buildings simulate real ski slopes during winter time, combining the essence of a ski resort – skiing, relaxation, recreation and dwelling, the roofscape of the buildings during summer will be just as attractive serving as a green continuum of the surrounding natural landscape for hiking and picnics.
